Glatt Consulting Group Leads Governance Workshop

Las Vegas, NV (October 22, 2024): Glatt Consulting Group’s Tom Glatt led a governance workshop at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on October 21, 2024. The workshop was hosted by credit union conference firm CU Conferences.

The workshop focused on the Credit Union Governance Framework, a framework for governance based on the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. Participants learned about the five principles of the framework:

The workshop also covered critical director responsibilities, including the duty of loyalty and the duty of care. Participants learned how to develop and support these responsibilities for improved individual and board governance performance.

In addition, the workshop addressed board succession planning and readiness. Participants learned how to recruit, develop, and engage volunteers to ensure succession strength.

Finally, the workshop discussed board accountability. Participants learned how to assess framework performance and individual board member performance. They also learned how to respond to assessment results with decisive action.

The workshop was well-received by participants. "I found the workshop to be very informative and helpful," said one participant. "I now have a much better understanding of the Credit Union Governance Framework and how to apply it to my credit union."
