Enterprise Discovery

About Enterprise Discovery

While our disciplines are each unique in terms of process and deliverables, every client relationship and engagement begins with a thorough enterprise assessment: a discovery process that allows us (Glatt Consulting and you) to establish a shared understanding of your business model and its advantages and disadvantages, enterprise organizational structure, external environmental risks and opportunities, and key competitors. This process, and the resulting detail-rich database we call Enterprise, serves as the foundation of support for each of our consulting disciplines.

In addition to serving that foundational purpose, the Enterprise database establishes a “current context,” meaning a snapshot and understanding of the environment that presently exists. This ensures that our subsequent consulting efforts and deliverables are informed by reality and never result in recommendations, solutions, or paths forward that are impossible to execute.

Use Case Scenarios

Here’s how clients have used our discovery process:

  1. To develop a current-state org view in preparation for change initiatives.

  2. To develop Enterprise awareness (for new CEOs).

  3. As preparation for a Glatt Consulting-led consulting project.

Deliverables

In addition to our process and subject matter expertise, you will receive the Enterprise database containing the results of the discovery process. This includes your business model, organizational structure, environmental influences, and competitors.

Process Summary

Data Gathering Survey Activities

We utilize a number of team engagement surveys in order to build a complete picture of your business model, organizational structure, environment, and competitors.

Our data gathering survey interactions include:

  1. Business model, environment, and competitors discovery survey

  2. Business model, environment, and competitor ranking survey

Discussion and Decision Events

Our discussion and decision events are listed below. Thanks to the ease with which teams can meet using video conference technology, our discovery events are entirely virtual and relatively short and focused.

  2. Discovery results debrief and update discussion

  3. Enterprise database results and debrief discussion

Workflow Timeline Summary

Discovery is a prerequisite for each of our consulting projects (though if you’ve gone through discovery once, there is no need to go through it again unless major organizational or environmental changes have occurred). It takes one month, and the efforts unfold as follows:

    • Orientation

    • Business model, environment, and competitors survey

    • Discovery results debrief and update discussion

  • Week 2-4:

    • Business model, environment, and competitor ranking survey

  • Week 4:

    • Enterprise database results and debrief discussion
