GCLLC Posts New Podcast on Core Values

posted Jun 7, 2010 1:07 PM by Thomas Glatt   [ updated Jun 7, 2010 1:19 PM ]

Glatt Consulting, LLC today posted a new podcast on fcore values. The podcast is available via the GCLLC podcasts page, on iTunes, and via the new GCLLC iPhone and Android Apps.

Program Excerpt:

"I said there were two reasons for a lack of employees’ understanding and embrace of values. The second reason is that, for many organizations, values are created at the top level of the organization. A group of people sit down and work to define institutional values - but usually without regard to what employees value. This is interesting because it is usually the personal values of employees that come out when that employee deals with customer issues."

Glatt to Participate in Corporate System Webinar

posted Jun 2, 2010 2:27 PM by Thomas Glatt

Glatt Consulting, LLC Executive Consultant Tom Glatt, Jr. will participate as a panelist on the Safety & Soundness Report's How CUs Can Preserve Their Capital & Access Services – Today webinar. The webinar is scheduled for June 24, 2010 from 2:00 - 3:30 ET.

Tom's focus will be on sizing up alternative services to the corporate system and nailing down the benefits and drawbacks of alternate third-party providers.

Webinar Description

"CUs have seen their corporate capital investments – millions of dollars – disappear with the meltdown of the corporate CU system. On top of that, NCUA’s special NCUSIF assessment to save WesCorp, U.S. Central and other corporate CUs has stripped the earnings of natural person CUs.

Now, several corporate CUs, such as Mid-Atlantic, EasCorp and Corporate America, have asked or demanded that their member CUs make new capital commitments. Meantime, NCUA is developing a new corporate rule in the face of increasing problems at U.S. Central.

Is your CU ready to commit additional capital to preserve the corporate system? Do you still need to use corporate CUs at all? NCUA’s new corporate rule will be in place by late summer. But your CU should not wait until the rules are finalized before acting to preserve your capital position and access to critical third-party services."

GCLLC Posts New Podcast on Empowerment

posted May 12, 2010 10:58 AM by Thomas Glatt   [ updated May 12, 2010 11:07 AM ]

Glatt Consulting, LLC today posted a new podcast on finding success when empowering employees. The podcast is available via the GCLLC podcasts page, on iTunes, and via the new GCLLC iPhone and Android Apps.

Program Excerpt:

"Empowerment is an overused buzzword. Really overused. I think one of the reasons why certain words get to the point of overuse is because people don’t really take note of what they mean. Such words become vague representations of broad philosophical concepts. In other words, they come to have no real meaning at all."

GCLLC Launches New iPhone/Droid App

posted May 11, 2010 8:56 AM by Thomas Glatt   [ updated May 11, 2010 9:37 AM ]

Wilmington, North Carolina, May 11, 2010
— Credit Union consulting firm Glatt Consulting, LLC has released a new app for iPhone and Droid smart phones. The app, available for free via the iTunes and Android App Stores, is designed to connect smart phone users to the company’s resources, including its blog, news feeds, and podcast library.

“We have a loyal following of our blog, and especially our podcasts,” says Glatt Consulting, LLC Executive Consultant and Owner Tom Glatt, Jr. “The Droid and iPhone apps offer subscribers yet another convenient way to access their favorite material. We also hope that the app encourages those who have never visited either our website or our spot in the iTunes podcast marketplace to take a look at what we have to offer.”

In honor of the availability of the new app, Glatt Consulting, LLC will place the first five credit unions contacting the firm via the e-mail address located in the “Contact” section of the app into a drawing for a free Enterprise Assessment. The assessment, a comprehensive survey and analysis of board, management team, and employee performance and priority opinions, is typically a part of the firm’s strategic planning process and retails for $1,400.

“We chose the Enterprise Assessment as a reward for for the first credit union to try out our new app because the app is a means for credit unions to get to know us - and the assessment is a means for credit unions to get to know themselves. It seemed like an appropriate trade.”

As for the future of the app, while the company sees multi-faceted potential it is looking to future users for feedback on direction.

“We will see how the growth of the app goes over the next few months, and what type of feedback we receive from users, but I can envision the app evolving into something of a pocket consultant for users,” says Glatt. “The app infrastructure allows us the capability to add video, direct feeds from social media networks in which we participate, and other dynamic functions. The app could become a go-to resource for supporting management decision making. We are really only limited by the scope and scale of demand for Glatt Consulting content.”

For iPhone users, the app can be found by searching GCLLC in the App Store either through iTunes on a computer or via the iPhone itself. For Android-based phones, the app can be found by searching GCLLC in the Android Market accessible via an Android handset.

GCLLC Posts New Podcast on Structure Alignment

posted Apr 26, 2010 12:34 PM by Thomas Glatt

Glatt Consulting, LLC today posted a new podcast on structure alignment. The podcast, available via the GCLLC podcasts page and on iTunes, covers the compelling reasons for aligning corporate structure with corporate strategy.

Program Excerpt:

"The primary concern of the leader of any institution should be that the institution’s strategic plan succeed. The question, then, when working to a new level of success is whether the structure of the organization actually supports the main objectives defined in the plan. To better understand the situation, consider the simple example of an institution that has defined strategic success as delivering above-average service to consumers..."
